Israel strikes Hezbollah despite US-Iran ceasefire tensions
โIran's foreign ministry says it won't be involved in talks unless Lebanon is part of the deal. Israel insists its fight with Hezbollah is not part of the two week ceasefire between The US and Iran and continues hitting Hezbollah targets in Lebanon. Wednesday, Israel struck multiple targets including in Beirut, killing more than 300 people.โ
โIt's possible that fighting could start again if Iran starts hitting US warships or commercial ships trying to transit through the Strait Of Hormuz or attacking the energy sector of Gulf allies. The Iranians have said they have major untouched levers to pull in response to the blockade, but we don't know what that means. At this point, it's an economic war trying to get Iran back to negotiating cable.โ
Eric Swalwell resigns amid sexual misconduct allegations
โSwalwell has been at the center of controversy since last Friday after at least four women spoke with the San Francisco Chronicle and CNN about experiences ranging from unwanted sexual advances by Swalwell to allegations of rape. NPR has not independently verified the allegations, and Swalwell has forcefully denied them. He repeats that in his latest statement, but goes on to say it's, quote, wrong for my constituents to have me distracted from my duties.โ
Selective Service shifts to automatic military draft registration
โThe Trump administration is taking steps toward automatic registration for the military draft. The selective service has required eligible men ages 18 to 25 to register since 1980. The agency says it will begin registering men automatically instead of requiring them to sign up themselves.โ
โThe Dallas wing selected Fudd at the outset of the draft in New York. Fresh off winning the national championship, UCLA had five players drafted in the first round, breaking the record held by the 2,002 UConn team. I'm Jael Snyder, NPR News.โ
โPortland, frisky seven seed. Like, I I think Portland's a better playoff team than either Houston or Toronto. So you're going to Portland. The energy's gonna be amazing. El Cheapo is gonna be shooting out, probably used t shirts out of 15 year old Canon, t shirt candidates. I can't wait for for this weekend, but we'll see what do the spurs have in them without Wembley.โ
โAt issue is whether a crime was committed to justify a judge signing off on the warrants. Riverside County sheriff Chad Bianco, a Republican, obtained them to investigate an alleged vote count discrepancy in a statewide election last year. In that election, Californians voted to redraw the state's congressional map to favor Democrats.โ

โThe AP reported at least 50 new Polymarket accounts placed substantial bets on a US Iran ceasefire hours before president Trump made the announcement. It isn't the first time such well timed bets have occurred. Donald Trump junior has a sizable stake in Polymarket.โ
Hollywood elite protest massive Paramount-Warner merger
โThe letter was signed by Hollywood directors and actors, among them JJ Abrams and Denis Villeneuve, Bryan Cranston, Glenn Close, and Jane Fonda. As founder of the relaunch committee for the First Amendment, Fonda has posted videos opposing the $110,000,000 deal by media mogul David Ellison backed by his billionaire father Larry Ellison. The idea of the whole entertainment industry being run by one company, that doesn't seem good.โ
โIsraeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he's authorized negotiations with Lebanon aimed at disarming Iranian backed Hezbollah militants and establishing relations between the countries. The nations have technically been at war since Israel was established in 1948. Meanwhile, president Trump posted on social media that Iran is doing a very poor job of allowing oil through the Strait Of Hormuz.โ
The Chevy Silverado is the ultimate football truck
โSilverado has the power to haul pretty much everything. Gear, grills, tailgate setups. So whether you're driving to a draft party, a road game, or towing a boat to the lake, you need a truck with strength, reliability, and the drive to go the distance. The same DNA you'll find in a Chevy Silverado is capable and dependable as your top tier draft pick. Silverado shows up and gets the job done. It won't flinch when the pressure's on.โ
Product Dilution The current system creates a conflict between long-term team building and short-term league revenue, as uncompetitive games devalue the broadcast product during the late season.

โI have the rockets now. Number one, because if you lose this series to if you lose this series to this Lakers team, you gotta be kidding me. Honestly, you gotta be kidding me. That would be just one of the dumbest playoff losses I could remember. Your 41 year old LeBron, Luke Kennard, who anybody coulda had, Marcus Smart hitting corner threes, Jackson Hayes is out there. I I just can't believe it.โ
โReading writing the book and going through all the dumb luck that we got along the way and how this this this collection of morons got to a place where the number one sports podcast, I think the g man might have our back. Imagine imagine if the day you die, you go up you go up to the Pearly Gates and God's like, hey. Bing bong. Good to meet you. 10 time AWL. Bing bong. Hanky. I hope it's like forty.โ
โAnd then this Scoot Henderson game, 31 points. So Nick Wright texted me this. He now has 10 more career playoff points than Wembley. I feel like I'm still in it with Scoot. Can't give up yet. I thought Scoot was awesome today. Now he had one rebound and zero assists, but the defense and the fearlessness and the athleticism was what we thought it might be.โ
โI don't know why Houston didn't trade for him. I don't get it. They thought they're they were good with the team. Like, they like having Van Vliet around. Van Vliet can't play till next year. Like, worst case scenario, you could just opt out of his contract. You can resign him. But it's weird to me that they didn't do anything, and the email clearly doesn't trust Reed Shepherd.โ
โThe Sixers are a bad three point shooting team. They shot 50% from three in this game. I cannot expect the Sixers to shoot 50% from three every single game. They're still most likely going to lose this this series, but I was ecstatic. I watched the last I watched I I told myself that I wasn't going to come in because I thought the sixers had a better chance of winning if I didn't come in.โ
Wembanyama concussion creates San Antonio Spurs crisis
โThe spurs when he gets concussed on the night that he is given the defensive player of the year award and it looked bad immediately was not great. And I don't know in, in football, the concussion protocol is like at least a week. I who knows with basketball, he's definitely not gonna be in game three, but maybe he comes back for game four. But at the very least, Portland steals one.โ
Hank dismisses concerns over the Celtics shooting slump
โThe Celtics that that was a a playoff game that we have seen before probably three or four times in the last three or four years. You live by three, die by the three. If they miss 30 threes every game in the rest of the series, they're probably not gonna win it. I don't think that's gonna happen. And it's not like I'd rather lose that way than them play well and lose. That would have been worse. The the sixers best beats your best would have been worse.โ

โThe scientists found that the same neurons that fire when someone looks at an object also fire when a person imagines that object. The finding supports earlier evidence from brain scans suggesting that seeing and imagining activate the same circuits.โ
โI'm excited for the future core of the Philadelphia seventy sixers after watching VJ Edgecomb and Tyrese Maxey in that game. Vijay Edgecomb is insane. Youngest player in NBA history to go for 30 points and 10 rebounds in a game. He's a a beast, and he's 19 years old. In a playoff game? In a playoff game. I've I've I've said that that stat twice, and I forgot the word playoff both times.โ
Jet fuel shortages loom as maritime buffers vanish
โBecause ships take a long time to travel by sea, the world had a bit of a buffer insulating importers from shortages, but that's gone now. The last ship carrying jet fuel from the Persian Gulf to Europe arrived last week, reports the commodity intelligence group, Argus. There are no more on the way right now.โ
